This tiger pet was inspired by the Chinese New Year as it was the year of the tiger at the time this asset was made. I learned a new fur painting technique from our concept artist while making this pet.
While creating this pet I wasn't sure if later on the face would be animated or not, so I left space in the texture for things like eyelids or perhaps a mouth interior to be added in the future.
This is the original concept art of the tiger that I created. This concept ended up being the image we sent to our patrons as their reward announcement, and the actual tiger model was created later on.
We decided to forgo facial animations after seeing that WoW typically doesn't do them either. I focused on putting all the expression and character into the body animations instead.
This pet was created as a January reward for supporting Ilysia VR's patreon.
